In the NPL the game of the round and Launceston City’s unbeaten record is set to face its biggest test to date, as they travel down to Hobart to take on South Hobart at Darcy Street on Sunday. The NPL Tasmania ladder leaders currently hold a 6 point gap to second placed Devonport, and are now 9 points ahead of South following their loss to the Strikers last round. The road trip to Darcy Street is obviously one of the toughest of their remaining fixtures and its a ground they have previously struggled at mightily, losing by margins of 7-0 and 7-1 in their two trips down last season. Past results would seem to have little relevance to the 2018 edition of Launceston City given their improvement and new looks squad though, and they will travel down with a 9-2-0 record in tow. They should be filled with confidence after a 4-1 thumping over Olympia last week, their 6th win in a row. In fact the last time they didn’t walk away with 3 points from an NPL game was the last time they played South Hobart, back in Round 5.
