Full Time! Launceston City 5-0 Clarence

And that was the final action of the game. City break through for their first win of the season and it was seldom in doubt. Don’t know what happened after that South Hobart loss but they have come back a completely new side and they back up their cup win in style.

90+2′ Stuart misses the open net! Did all the hard work, got around Smith, then blasted it over the bar. That just about sums up Clarence’s day!

89′ Shot off! Price has a shy from down town but it floats over the bar.

88′ Save! A quick shot is fired in near post but Randall is across well to deal with it

Slice of Cheese- Hallard into book for taking down Williams

84′ Sub- Smith comes on for the injured O’Connor. So the back up keeper will get a run on the field! No doubt he wil For Clarence Randall replaces Stevens.

83′ Bremner with a fantastic run through the middle, beating 3 defenders before going down. Play on the call and O’Connor who was the man to stop him seems to have hurt his knee. After a lengthy break he gets back to his feet and limps off with the trainers.

Sub- Kamano off for Butler, a fine shift for the City front man today. Clarence have also brough Bugg on for Heath

78′ GOAL! 5-0! Williams crosses from wide on the right, Kamano and Randall go up for it, Kamano makes the better contact and nods it home.

70′ Shot off! A perfect corner from Hallard, superbly whipped in is headed wide by an unmarked Naden from 6 yards out. Should have buried that.

Sub=Burgess on for Robb,

65′ Shot blocked! Heath works it to Hallard who plays it to Robb in space entering the right hand side of the box, he shapes to shoot but a sliding O’Connor markes a fantastic block.

61′ Jarrod Linger seems to have tweaked a groin, is back to his feet now but seems proppy.

58′ GOAL! 4-0! Degetto!  The ball is played to him in the middle of the box, he slides his finish under Randall and gives the big double fist pump, he’s loving this. City breaking through for a first win in style now!

56′ A ball into the box which Heath gets a foot to before the keeper Smith and it scrambles past him but he is able to recover and dive on the ball before Robb or Heath can get a shot away.

54′ GOAL! 3-0! That could be the ball game! A deflected shot falls into the path of Compagne at the back post and he smashes a volley in off the bar!

46′ Second half back underway, can the hosts turn things around or will City bank a first victory. Rain has got heavier, it’s teeming down now.

HALF TIME: Clarence 0-2 Launceston City

A huge goal just before the break has City with a two goal advantage. They have been the better side and have now put it on the scoreboard. Pretty scrappy affair for the most part, though it did open up as the game wore on.

45′ GOAL!! 2-0! Compagne! A booming header to bottom corner of the net after a lovely cross was put in by Dylan Williams.

43′ Shot on! Bremner with a sharp turn and shot from the top of the box but it’s straight at Smith.

39′ Shot off! Degetto puts it narrowly over the top from just outside the box after he was well set up by some nice work from Compagne.

38′ GOAL! 1-0! Dylan Williams takes off on a mazy run, gets to the right hand side of the box and puts it on a platter for Kamano who buries it from close range.

37′ Robb charges into Smith, the ball ends up in the back of the net, but a foul had been blown and Robb gets a Slice of Cheese.

33′ Randall does well to punch clear a dangerous corner.

31′ A brilliant shot block from Malcolm, denies a thumping shot from Compagne.

29′ The offside flag kills a promising City move,

24′ Shot off! Williams chips a ball into Kamano in the middle of the box who nods it just past the post.

20′ Shot on! Compagne does well out on the left, he squares it to Williams who drives one with power that Randall holds onto.

16′ A City Corner is easily dealt with, Clarence get one which Smith collects comfortably, neither team threatening yet.

15′  Smith does well to get in at the feet of Stuart and safely claim the ball under pressure.

Game bogged down in midfield at the moment with not happening bar some strikes from long distance.

10′ Degetto now from range, way over the top though.

Clarence doing the bulk of the attacking early on, conditions are truly dire with the rain starting to come down heavily and the wind blowing right down the middle of the pitch.

Really strong wind here, rain about too, but its at Clarence’s backs, they will need to make the most of it in the first 45.

1′ Kick off, we’re underway and immediately Robb tries from range but it floats over the bar.

Welcome to the Dunegeon as Clarence host Launceston City. Their lone victory in the first round of games came at this ground against this opponent so they will be confident. City are still searching for their first win, so will be looking to take momentum out of their cup victory last weekend when they shocked South. If they can turn in a performance like that today they will fancy themselves to chalk up that maiden league victory for Ben Brookfield.
