Full time! Yep 7-1 to the home side. An unexpected dismantling of the rangers today which is disappointing for the northerners. The strikers had heaps of chances and on another day it could have been heaps more . Back to the drawing board for the rangers as the Devonport picked them apart at ease. Devonport looks a good young side and may give some of the top teams a real game.

90+1 SLICE OF CHEESE !! Mann gets his slice for apparently diving, I’m not sure what the referee saw as Mann tried to stay on his feet as he drove into the box. Very Unlucky.

90′ The Mann goal machine goes on, his initial attempt is saved on to the post but his follow-up tap in was always going in and he finally gets the goal he deserves.7-1

89 its party time for the Zebras as they add a sixth through Millington who’s just come on as a sub, his volleyed effort is driven into the bottom left-hand corner.

86′ Mann again !! His headed effort goes just wide, a little uncharacteristic of Brayden as he usually buries those.

84 ‘Close call for the Northern Rangers as Devonport Strikers Brayden Mann tries the spectacular Wayne Rooney manchester derbyesk scissor kick but his effort is just over.

80 ‘ Zac cross clears for the Rangers, the ever dangerous Fischer was lurking but Cross is in the right play at the right time.

76′ GOALLL, Its Wicks who joins in the fun this time, a pinpoint cross is converted from the young winger. This could get ugly.

75′ Fulton with an uncharacteristic slip allows Fischer 1 v 1 but Chugg does enough and Fischer’s shot is wide.

70′ Rangers with some lovely passing out of defend , Cross and Fulton dealt with the strikers slick counter and played their way out of trouble.

69′ Fischer inched wide once more, he cut in and fired a shot off but his ambitious effort was too wide.

appease the Whatman fan club i went out and found out that his knee isn’t as badly injured as expected but may face a week on the side, nothing too serious.

60′ Goal time, Holden beats two with impressive footwork then tucks his shot in at the near post. Devonport 4- 1 Rangers.

Half time. Pretty impressive stuff from the Strikers as they are slicking the ball around in key areas, the rangers have defended well and are unlucky to go in 3-1 today. Fischer the difference.

45′ Chugg with a massive 1 on 1 save, Mann was played through the middle but Chugg makes himself big And Mann fires straight at him.

44′ Devonport have been pulling all the strings today as Fischer nearly gets a game ball but he slips at the crucial moment and his touch is comfortably collected by Chugg.

Sub on : Z.Chugg Sub off: Whatman. Massive loss for the Northern Rangers but a chance to impress for 21-year-old Chugg.

a bit of a delay in play as a few people have gone down, no subs to note but going to have heaps of extra time. actually, we do have a sub.

34′ GOAL time for Holden, Wick picked out the unmarked Michael Holden who makes no mistake as his drive is converted into the bottom right-hand corner. Devonport 3 – 1 Rangers.

28 ‘ GOAL, the rangers pull one back through Jones who after wonderful Feet from Pat Lanau-Atkinson who beats three drives his strike into the roof of the net,  All to play for.

26′ Wicks so close !! his header inches wide from beating Whatman but he heads to the left and the Rangers escape!

23′ Someone needs to tell the Rangers which way they are shooting,  Zac cross nearly adds to the Devonport scoreline when he tried to clear the danger but headed his clearance towards his goal,  the ball rebounded off the woodwork and Fulton Clears.

19′ Oh my word what a finish, Michael Holden sends in a thirty yard past who finds Fischer, his touch takes him away from Fulton and he makes no mistake as his drive is sent into the top right-hand corner. Pretty Special finish !!

14′ Dreamboat Darrant plays the ball wide to Thannhauser who plays in Seong-Yong “Danny “Jin but he’s too fast for his own good and is adjudged to be offside.

13′ Big save by big Sam, Whatman was seemingly beaten when Fischer again drives from the top of the Box after a corner was sent in.

11′ Goal time for the Devonport Strikers, Tyler Fischer is played in after a long pass catches the Rangers defence to high. His shot is precise and he finishes well into the bottom left-hand corner!

8′ Devonport’s game plan is clearly to try and get in behind Burke as every attack is coming down that side.

5′ Talisman Brayden man misses from 5 yards out, he was played in down the left but with only the keeper to beat puts his chance wide.  Wasteful

4′ Nick LA !! it should be 0-1 but the captain of the rangers tries to chip keeper Zaikos but the keeper is up to the task!

3′ Free kick to the Rangers, wasn’t much in it but the Rangers will take it.

and were underway here !!

Rangers teamsheet:

Devonport Strikers:

Welcome to Valley Road today where the red hot Devonport Strikers host out of form Northern Rangers, both sides are extremely young which makes for an unpredictable contest. The Strikers will be looking to consolidate their 4th place position but also to try and chase down their southern based opponents. The strikers look extremely fit and I hear from sources around the club that the Strikers coach means business and has raised the standard at their club. A pleasing note is that the Devonport club has been extremely accommodative and have given me their Wi-FI password!
