So Zebras take the 3 points and in convincing fashion, they were dominant tonight and fully deserve their win. Sanders was absolutely magic and the centre back chipping in with a brace is an added bonus. Full Report to come.

FULL TIME: Hobart Zebras 5-0 Clarence

76′ GOAL! 5-0! And what a goal! Sanders from 30 yards with a simply superb strike, spied the keeper a fraction off his line and curled in an absolute stunner, just under the bar, early goal of the year candidate.

69′ GOAL! 4-0! Groenewold again! He bobs up at the back post after a short corner was played nicely by Sanders who ended up standing up a perfect ball to the pack stick which was bundled home by the centre back!

Zebras getting rewarded for their dominance now, they’ve been the superior side and have shown a good cutting edge up top. Sanders has be

61′ GOAL 3-0 ZEBRAS! Matt Sanders with a brace! Mckeown slid through a lovely pass for Walsh who put it on a platter for Sanders to bury from close range.

Zebras have been firmly on top and they got their reward for the pressure they had built with a pair of goals. It’s been a real physical game, so many fouls from both sides which has disruped play at times but both are playing so direct that it’s quickly transitioning into attack after the stoppages.

Sub- Clarence- Demar has limped off injured and been replaced by Hedge

37′ GOAL 2-0 Zebras! Matt Sanders jinks past Price and buries a shot in the bottom corner of the net, clinical!

35′ Zebras still on top her as the challenges continue to fly in. Been plenty of physical battles and sliding challenges in a very tough game not for the feint of heart. Zebras having the better of the play though and look the more likely side to score but Clarence are looking a threat on the counter and came close after Hallard set Robb away with a superb through ball but it wouldn’t sit for Stuart in the box.

24′ GOAL 1-0 Zebras! Nicholas Groenwold with a thumping header off the bar! Downes swung in a fizzing free kick and he met it with a powerful header.

20′ A furious pace to this game in the opening 20. Zebras have come close through Hey with a couple of headers, one of which took a sharp spin to take it away from goals when it looked like it was destined for the net but otherwise it’s been an end to end affair with both teams getting stuck in and flying at the ball. Neither team taking a backwards step.

1′ KICK OFF! Round 2 is underway here at KGV.

Welcome to KGV as The round kicks off  on Friday night with Hobart Zebras taking on Clarence at KGV with both sides looking for their first victories of the season. Zebras claimed a 2-2 draw on Saturday against Devonport and will fancy themselves to take the points against a side they went 3/3 from in season 2016. The reds showed they will be a tough side to break down in their 1-1 draw against Rangers however and Zebras certainly won’t be expecting anything to come easy to them in this one. These are two bruising, physical sides, so expect a tough physical contest under the lights of KGV with Zebras to control more of the possession and the Clarence rearguard, set to be led by Odaine Demar and Matthew Lewis to be put under pressure. Andrew Cooling bringing this one to you, also commentating so apologies if the updates are not as frequent as usual.
