FULL TIME HOBART ZEBRAS 5-3 SOUTH HOBART

90′ GOAL!!!! 5-3! That should be it, Mckeown calmly slots home after Van Doorne put it on a platter for him!

86′ Shot off! Walter should have scored! He attacked a cross from Gorrie with intent and won it decisively, but from close range he gets too much on it and it flies over the bar.

85′ A couple of half chances including a long range shot from Sculthorpe but nothing to trouble Kamara.

83′ Sub- Castaneda comes on for Feral as South sacrifice their holding midfielder for an attacking player. Kitchen sink time, they are throwing it at the moment but finding themselves unable to break down a Zebras defence that has gotten better as the game has worn on.

Sub- Mckeown comes on for Huigsloot. Minutes later Ackerly comes on for Muller.

70′ Save! Graham Wright covers his angles well to deny a Van Doorne break away after he burnt off the defence from a counter attack..

64′ The manic pace of the game has continued here. South came very close to levelling things up once again but Zebras are looking the more likely side to add another goal. South have now used 2 subs and brought on Sculthorpe and Brennan for Saracino and Degetto

52′ GOAL! 4-3! This is ridiculous! The goals just keep flowing and now Van Doorne has a tap in after some lovely play down the right. Every time a team attacks this half they score!

51′ GOAL! 3-3! Nick Morton, pokes home from close range! Suspected hand ball in the box but they get away with it and after a scramble it falls to Morton who pokes home!

49′ GOAL! 3-2! Mathew Sanders has his second, find some space in the box, then unleashes a perfect shot into the far corner, clinical stuff!

46′ Back underway for the second half at North Hobart.

Half Time: Hobart Zebras 2-2 South Hobart

So the half time whistle brings an end to a pulsating first 45, it’s been end to end stuff and the goals are flowing. Enough action for a full 90, but we have 45 more to go here. Wonderful stuff.

44′ GOAL! 2-2! Immediate response! Van Doorne slides a pass through to Sklenar who clinically passes it into the back of the net.

43′ GOAL! 2-1! Adam Gorrie! Timed his run to perfection, burst in behind the defence then absolutely smashes it in near post where Kamara had left him too much room

39′ Just wide! Jayden Hey unleashed a powerful drive after a clever backheel from Sanders teed him up, but he is just wide of the post!

37′ SAVE! Oh that is top drawer from Sheku Kamara, gets his left hand up to make a tremendous reflex save denying South from a corner.

34′ GOAL! 1-1! Sanders! Zebras hit back, a corner sees Wright clawing the ball out, but the rebound eventually pin-balls to the Colonel who deposits it into the back of the net.

31′ SAVE! Graham Wright sharply off his line to deny Jakub Sklenar with South getting caught out at the back by the quickly taken free kick.

29′ The game really ebbbing and flowing with both sides enjoying good periods. It’s been Zebras who have looked the more likely and the last 5 minutes has seen them peppering the South Hobart penalty area but unable to find a breakthrough.

18′ Shot on! Sklenar’s first time volley is straight down the throat of Wright who saves easily.

16′ Sanders hold off the attention of Brown and fires a shot across the body of Graham Wright who gets down and denies him comfortably enough.

14′ Just wide! A corner from Sanders perfectly picks out the big target of Luke Huigsloot but his glancing header is wide of the mark.

10′ GOAL! 1-0! Kobe Kemp opens the scoring, driving one from the top of the box that Kamara seemed to have covered but he allows it to squirm through underneath him.

7′ After a cagey opening its Nick Morton who has the first shot in anger of the game but his effort sails way over the top and through the AFL goals.

1′ Kick off the season is underway for 2018!
