Kingborough v Devonport

FULL TIME Kingborough 3-5 Devonport

90+1′ Gates smashes a drive narrowly past the post.

90′ Gabriel Markaj has just been sent to stands, presumably he has said something the ref didn’t like. He points at him and he trudges off without complaint. Game looks over by now anyway with just stoppage time to play.

85′ Reynolds a bit too casual in the box and gets robbed by Yuel, he recovers well to pressure Yuel as he tries to fire off a shot, but it lacks any real power.

The Lions continuing to push hard, they have been the much better side in the second half, but that penalty was such a massive set back, still they are throwing bodies forward and attacking though. Really dialling up the pressure.

81′ Gates blazes over the top of the bar after Kovadio set him in some space just outside the box with some lightning fast feet.

80′ A Pearce free kick takes a touch

78′ Mtwale blazes over the top after some nice play to set him up just outside the box.

75′ Penalty Shout! Kovadio goes tubmling down on the edge of the box as it seemed he was clipped but the referee is having none of it.

71′ GOAL 5-3, Michael Holden steps up and cooly dispatches the penalty.

70′ Penalty! Akakpo is adjudged to have controlled the ball with his arm in the box, White points to the spot instantly.

66′ The game has completely turned around in the second half, the Lions are on the attack and have all the momentum in the game. They are turning the screws and putting Devonport under tremendous pressure.

59′ GOAL 4-3! Jack Gates with a sublime goal. Cowen somehow heldoff a defender and played a perfect through ball, Gates raced onto it, then one on one with the keeper, he chips him in style. GAME ON!

58′ Shot off! Holden with a shy from 3o t

56′ Shot on! Fischer curls a free kick straight at Kamara.

54′ SUB- Yuel comes on for Lokoes as Markaj shuffles his deck.

50′ Slice of cheese for Herwyenen for a late challenge

49′ GOAL 2-4! The Lions come roaring out of the sheds and pull one back. Mtwale volleys home after some nice work from Gates who chipped a perfect ball into the box.

47′ Shot off! Kovadio (who had appeals for a penalty when he tangled up with Smith turned aside a moment earlier) drives into the box and blasts a shot just wide of the near post.

Devonport running absolutely rampant here at the Den, Fischer has four and the Lions defence has imploded. Devonport running riot down the flanks and Fischer is just drifting in and doing whatever he pleases, nobody staying near him. This could get very ugly unless the Lions change things drastically. They have been torn apart at the back, defence simply not good enough and the Strikers are punishing them for it.

Someone pulled out a power cord so we lost our camera there for a minute and had to set up a new stream,

45+2′ GOAL! 4-1! Fischer again! Incredibly he has 4, Wicks sent it in from the wing and he buries another one.!

45′ GOAL! 3-1 Devonport as Fischer steps up and converts the spot kick, a first half hat-trick!

44′ PENALTY! Gates with a sloppy foul in the box and White points straight to the spot.

40′ Save! Kamara makes a fine kick save to deny Fischer from close range.

37′ GOAL 2-1! The lions pull one black, Tobias Herweynen buries a shot into the top corner with a clinical finish. Was the end product of some nice work from Kovadio who worked it to Cowen, who laid on the assist to the youngster.

31′ GOAL! 2-0! Tyler Fischer capitalises on a sloppy pass out from the back and shields a defender from the ball before sliding it underneath the keeper to double the lead.

27′ GOAL! 1-0 Devonport! Fischer steps up and smashes a powerful free kick into the top corner of the net. Superb!

27′ Dance releases Wicks into the box with a superb raking ball but his shot lacks power from the angle and it’s an easy save.

24′ Slice of Cheese! Jack Gates booked for hauling down Holden from behind.

23′ Shot off! Fischer blasts a volley over the top from a Wicks corner.

20′ Shot off! Kovadio comes so close to opening the scoring. He flicks a back heel just wide of the post after some super work from Akakpo, stepovers included, on the right hand side of the box.

15′ Holden smashes one over the bar from range, comes closer to the little kid on the hill behind the goals than the back of the net though.

14′ Okello makes a tremendous sliding block to deny Fischer.

10′ Both managers very animated on the touch lines so far. Game is being played at a good intensity and both sides are pushing numbers forward, be a surprise if it remained 0-0 for too long.

7′ Both teams trade chances in the space of 60 seconds but both keepers up to the task as Kamara and Zaikos deny Kovadio and Fischer respectively.

1′ KICK OFF! Underway at the Den. Live stream should be  up and working now.

Welcome to the Den as Devonport hit the road for the first time this season to take on Kingborough. The Lions will be looking for their first victory of the season and after throwing away leads in their first two games, they will want to show they can run out the full 90 minutes in this one. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the significant influx of new players, they are still yet to really click as a team, but on an individual level the likes of Kovadio and Akakpo have stood out. Both these teams have openly preached that they want to play attractive and positive football, so if both stick to their guns this could be quite the open affair with goals expected.

No Brayden Mann today but Michael Holden is playing, so well played by Chris Gallo who insisted he wasn’t playing. Has kept his powder dry nicely
