Full Time: Olympia 3-0 Kingborough

And that is all she wrote, the Warriors do it comfortably over the Lions.

90+2′ Shot on! Hill tries to mimick Ronaldo with the driven free kick from long range but Kamara saves comfortably.

88′ GOAL! 3-0! Sklenar again! Hill with a perfect cross from the right wing, Sklenar runs on and taps home from close range!

85′ Shot on! Sklenar looks to smash one from range, but yet again it’s straight at the keeper.

84- Sub- Bernard comes on for his debut, replacing Davis. Leaman has come on for Bellini.

79′ GOAL!!! 2-0! Callan! runs onto a hit across the face from Sammut and with a first time strike he guides it home!

75′ SUB- Little off for Callan.

74- SUB- Verdouw off for Jones.

72′ Shot off! A Hill blasts is blocked and falls to Sklenar in the box but he pulls his effort wide of the post with a hook.

67′ GOAL! 1-0! SKLENARRRR! At last the deadlock is broken. Nkoso made it, spinning into the box with some fleet footwork before it fell the way of Sklenar who smashes it home from close range!

64′ Shot on! Nkoso with a tidy touch, then fires one from outside the box but again it’s straight at Kamara.

62′ Shot off! Bellini opts to shoot from distance but skies it well wide. Probably should have looked to play one of his attackers in instead.

59′ Shot off! What a ball! An absolute gem of a cross from Nkoso, enough on it to get it past both central defenders and leave it on a platter for Bellini who belts it over the top.

56′ Shot off! Lucas Hill, skips around two defenders in the box with some lovely skill before smashing a ball narrowly over the bar. Thumping hit, just wide.

SUB- The Peoples Champ Shae Hickey has come on for Mccarthy.

52′ Ortmann plays in Sklenar who is denied by the offside flag before he can run in on goal,

50′ Olympia attacking early in the half and have had a number of crosses repelled and a couple of shots blocked.

46′ Broadbent has subbed Lokoes on for Lane

HALF TIME: Olympia 0-0 Kingborough

Somehow the Warriors aren’t ahead at the break, they have been knocking on the door for the first 45 minutes and all over their opponents but been unable to beat Kamara.

44′ Shot on! A corner is cleared away to Ortmann who bends one from outside the box that curls straight into the hands of Kamara.

43′ Shot on! Nkoso takes it on the wing, surges past a defender and to the top of the box where he smashes a shot straight at Kamara.

42′ Shot on! A Sklenar shot it well blocked away by Kamara.

41′ And again! From the resulting corner another one is cleared away. This time volleyed away. Somehow Olympia not ahead in this game.

41′ Cleared off the line! A Lucas Hill header is denied by Mceldonwey who jumps up on the line and heads clear.

40′ Shot on! A cross to the back post presents Mccarthy with a chance and he opts for power but Kamara shuts it down at his near post.

34′ A dangerous cross is won in the air by Hill, then Kamara punches away a second aerial battle.

33′ Shot off! Mccarthy picks out the bottom of the wall for a well positioned free kick.

27′ Shot off! The ball spills to Sklenar who looks up and smashes a shot with tremendous velocity that rockets just wide of the post.

24′ Shot off! Lucas Hill sprays one across the face from the left hand side of the box trying to bend it for the far corner.

23′ Kamara springs across to block a Sklenar cross with a couple of Warriors lurking in the box.

22′ Shot on! The ball is squared to Bellini at the edge of the box, he skips inside then tries to pick out the far corner but  it’s not going to trouble Kamara

20′ Shot off! Bastock is played in and he fires on the turn but picks out the side netting only.

19′ Shot on! A long range free kick is nodded goalward but it’s straight at Kamara.

13′ Save! Top drawer stuff from Kamara as he dives low to his right to keep out a Lucas Hill header. Mccarthy sent in a perfect cross to him at the back post and he made good contact with the header but is denied by some spectacular keeping.

10′ Very little happening in the opening 10 minutes here, neither side creating anything of note. Olympia shading possession but with plenty of bodies behind the ball the Lions are proving hard to break down.

3′ Shot off! Lucas Hill dwells on it at the top of the box, before squaring it to Ortmann who drives an effort well wide.

1′ Underway at Warrior Park

TEAMS

The third and final game on Saturday is taking place at Warrior Park on Saturday night as the Olympia Warriors meet the Kingborough Lions. After taking a 2-1 lead last week against South Hobart, the Warriors title hopes appeared back on, only to then be snuffed out as South Hobart again found a way to get the better of them and extend the gap between the sides to a surely insurmountable 10 points. It means the Warriors main priority now becomes the FFA cup and finding some form ahead of their August 1 tie against APIA Leichard Tigers at KGV. The Lions defensive style is not what they are going to face in that tie, but nothing builds confidence like winning games. They will enter this one as favourites to get back on the winners list despite the recent uptick in form from the Lions under Mark Broadbent, including an impressive point against the Zebras last weekend. The narrow formation the Lions employ should suit the Warrior Park pitch and it certainly caused Olympia some problems in their 3-2 win over the Lions at the ground in their most recent meeting. There was however perhaps an air of the cue being put in the rack that night from the Warriors though after racing out to an early 3 goal lead. Consistency over the course of 90 minutes has been lacking from Olympia and is an area they need to focus on. Whilst with Clarence now just 2 points behind them, the Lions need to defend 6th place and picking up a point where they aren’t expected to will be a big boost to their hopes of doing just that.
