The meeting between these two sides at this ground back in Round 8 remains one of the most defining games of the season and it marked a turning point for both sides. It was a genuine sliding doors moment and had Zebras held on to win then the 2017 season could well have played out entirely differently. But it was South who stormed back from 2-0 down in the final 15 minutes to claim a 3-2 win to ignite their season and derail the Zebras. Peter Savill quit straight afterwards and after picking up 15 points between rounds 1-7, they’ve now added just 14 in their next 12 games. Certainly injuries have played a major role in that and with the likes of Muller, Walsh and McKeown returning to the squad in recent weeks they should be putting out a stronger side on Sunday, though now Sanders and Hey are under fitness clouds, so just how strong of a side they put out is still in some doubt. What is certain is that they will face the most dominant outfit in the competition who have now won 13 consecutive games and are flying at the moment. A 6-0 thumping at Valley Road without Nick Morton in the line up tells you just how well they are going and with the embarrassment of riches they have at their disposal, it’s hard to see how they can be stopped!
