Full Time: South Hobart 3-2 Olympia

So Oscar Thomas has proved the match winner, has smashed one from midfield, looking to clear the ball and its has flown the length and won the game! Extraordinary scenes at Darcy Street!

90+3′ GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOMAS FROM HALFWAY, A STUNNING STRIKE HAS WON IT. He has tried a clearance from halfway, and it has flown over the keepers head to win the game!

90+1′ Shot off!

90′ Shot on! Hall drives past Ortmann and hits one on goal that Cole gets down to deny.

87′ Slice of Cheese! Mccarthy into the book for a shirt grab trying to prevent a storming counter attack from Walter, didn’t succeed though as he takes it the length to win a corner.

82′ Shot off! Hall can’t connect cleanly with the volley after Walter put in a perfect cross for him to the middle of the box.

SUBS- Leszczynski for Hamlett and Bellini for Sammut.

78′ Shot on! A Hall cross is steered goalward by Morton and a diving Cole makes a big save!

76′ Shot off!  Mccarthy blasts a free kick from just outside the box into the wall.

74′ Mccarthy makes a vital sliding block to deny a Schmidt drive and pays the price for it as the studs of Schmidt end up driving right into his back. Body on the line stuff.

67′ Crossbar! Morton smacks the cross bar from 6 yards out after Hamlett brought down a Hall cross into his path! Moments earlier Morton had a penalty shout turned down when Hickey slid tackled from behind.

61′ GOAL! 2-2! South strike right back! Gorrie crosses to perfection for Hamlett who volleys home delightfully to level things up!

58′ GOAL!!!!! 2-1 Olympia! The Warriors lead, Vandermey stormed out of defence then split the defence with a perfect through ball to spring Ortmann, he composes himself then slots it bottom corner!

54′ Slice of Cheese and a SUB! Brown has succumbed to injury after Wadawu ran into him at the end of a promising attacking move. Wilson comes on for him. Wadawu into the book.

51′ Subs for both sides, Cartwright for Mccarthy and Thomas for Ludford.

46′ Back underway at Darcy Street.

HALF TIME: South Hobart 1-1 Olympia

40′ Game has certainly evened out after South’s dominant first 20 minutes. We have a real game on our hands now. Challenges flying in and play ebbing and flowing.

34′ Slice of Cheese! Darcy Hall into the book for a late challenge.

33′ Shot on! Wadawu smacks a free kick top corner but Brown is across to palm it over the bar.

30′ Penalty shouts! Kemp gets in the back of Vandermey in the box but nothing doing. Kemp gets away with one there!

29′ Shot off! Morton feeds through Hall whose first time hit is over the bar. To be fair it took a bit of an odd bounce in the box before he hit it.

24′ GOAL! 1-1! The Warriors level completely against the run of play! A free kick from Wadawu is headed by Hill into the path of Sklenar who slides in to smash it home.

17′ Shot off! Gorrie in behind again as he overlaps and crosses for Walter who can’t direct his headed effort on target under pressure.

16′ Shot off! Hamlett feeds through to Hall who races in on goals and fires one just wide of the post, inches in it.

14′ Shot off! A long ball over the top somehow falls the way of Hamlett who spies Cole off his line and tries to chip him, it floats over the top.

9′ Sh0t off! A sloppy turn over allows Hall some room to blast a drive into the side netting from the top of the box.

8′ GOAL!!! 1-0! South open the scoring! A Gorrie free kick floats over everyone to an unmarked Turner who can’t believe his fortune and nods into an empty net!

4′ Shot on! Gorrie smashes a drive from the angle that Cole does well to shut down

2’Slice of Cheese! Cartwright flies in late on Gorrie and into the book he goes.

1′ Hamlett fires one from the angle that Cole gets over to shut down at his near post.

1’Kick off, underway at Darcy Street.

Having climbed back to the top of the table, South Hobart now look to defend top spot as they face their second huge Darcy Street showdown in as many weeks, playing host to the Olympia Warriors on Sunday. After defeating Devonport 3-0 to move top of the NPL Tasmania last weekend, the chaser has now becomes the chased, with South Hobart looking to ensure their stay at the summit is not a short one. To do so, they need to get past an Olympia side that they have dominated in their recent meetings, beating the third placed Warriors 3-0 in the season opener and more recently, 6-2 back in Round 10. In fact the last time Olympia claimed a win in the fixture was all the way back in Round 3 of the 2015 season!South’s march to the top comes off a seriously impressive win streak that has seen them chalk up eight consecutive victories in which they have averaged just under 5 goals per game in. With the Warriors entering the final full round of fixtures seven points adrift of South Hobart the equation for them is simple, they have to win this game or their title hopes are over.
