Ulverstone v Clarence

Full Time

Ulverstone look to revive their season as they entertain Clarence in the second game taking place on the Sunday. Asides from the three points they picked up via the Olympia forfeit, they now haven’t gotten a positive result since June 24 when they last played Clarence. That ended in a comfortable 4-0 win at home and they will be expecting to make it 3 from 3 against the Reds in season 2017 on Sunday. Whilst their form has been disappointing of late, they have been pretty reliable against the sides below them on the table and won 6 from those 7 games. With Danielle Mitchell and Phoebe Djakic they still have 2 genuine stars of the competition who have generally thrived in those games, flourishing from the extra time on the ball they get. Clarence had seemed to be getting back on track when they claimed a draw with Kingborough and a win over University in Rounds 13 and 14, but three heavy defeats in a row has now seen them slide back to the foot of the table. If they are to avoid the spoon then they need to arrest that slide and given the side they are fighting for the spoon with in University, marched into Ulverstone and took the points a fortnight ago, they now need to return serve.
