Ulvestone Return Home From Successful Southern Raids

After a less than ideal start to the season, Ulverstone are clicking back into gear nicely and suddenly being thumped by Launceston City has been put somewhat in perspective. They get their first game on home turf this weekend and would seem well positioned to make it three in a row against a University side that has struggled out of the blocks in 2017. They had their star attacking threat Eli Cropp to thank for their first point of the season last week. She scored two goals herself then set up the equalizer and was a one woman tour de force in the second half against the Lions. With Olivia Young and Mikhala George in support they are well equipped to do damage on the counter, which is an area they can be devastating in, but that approach won’t help much if they can’t keep the ball out of the net. The absence of midfield general Michelle Tadros and keeper Ameilia Dever Kavanagh has left them looking far less secure than they did in 2016 and so far they have conceded 19 times.  It’s those 19 goals against that will have Ulverstone’s attackers like the in form Milly Consalvo and Phoebe Djakic licking their lips at what seems a great chance to get among the goals again.
