Slice of Cheese

In the 3-4-3 Formation.

Gk- Amelia Vanderniet (Clarence)

The Clarence #1 made a strong return and issued a timely reminder as to what her side had been missing by producing some quality stops.

CB- Eleni Moutsatsos (South Hobart)

Kept her side in the game with a series of important challenges on the last line of defence. Won the ball well and showed good composure under pressure.

CB- Georgia Foote (Ulverstone)

Defended strongly and knocked some important long balls to stretch the defence with Gorrie’s pace in behind. Also scored a long range bomb to get her side right back in the game.

CB- Elisa Bowditch (University)

Resolute at the back and in firm command, Bowditch was a major reason here side was able to curtail the Lions biggest threat in Davis.

RW- Sydney Hector (Launceston City)

A handful down the wing, Hector’s pace and dribbling skills really stood out, especially in the first half as she pinned the opposition defence back with some quality runs.

CM- Michelle Tadros (University)

Sat in front of the University defence and shielded them expertly, Tadros shut off their attacking avenue through the middle of the pitch and played a major role in taking Tatton out of the game.

CM- Alyssa Bowden (Hobart Zebras)

Kept things running in the midfield masterfully, distributing the ball well and acting as the key playmaker for her side as they controlled the midfield battle.

LW- Eli Cropp (Taroona)

Lively in attack, Cropp set up the opening goal with a classy run and pass for Hulton before getting on the score sheet herself having been denied by the post moments earlier.

ST-Jazmin Gorrie (Ulverstone)

Scored three times and it was her shot that led to an own goal to start things off, Gorrie’s pace was simply too much for the City defence who could not deal with her streaking in behind their lines and leaving them in her wake.

ST- Lily Hulton (Taroona)

A strong performance leading the line from Hulton who got herself on the score sheet and linked up nicely with the rest of her side as she played her usual selfless role.

ST- Monique Undy (Hobart Zebras)

Led the line well for the Zebras and scored the goal that put the result beyond doubt which was a just reward for a strong performance as she caused big problems at the back.

Coach- Lucy Foote (Ulverstone)

Whatever Foote said at half time clearly resonated with the players as they exploded out of the blocks, scored 3 in 5 minutes and turned a 3-1 deficit into a 6-3 win. Undefeated and now clear on top, Ulverstone are looming as the team to beat in 2018.
