Full Time: Hobart Zebras 3-1 Kingborough

88′ Wakefield with a chance falling to him from a corner, but cant get it on target.

87′ Baker’s free kick is headed goalwards by Schuth and tipped over the bar by Kamara.

85′ GOAL! 3-1! Isky Van Doorne scores from the corner, crosses it in and O’Connel can’t deal with it, it flies straight in!

82′ GOAL! 2-1! Robinson crosses to Sanders, he chests down to Sklenar who buries it!

79′ Charuza does well to hold up Baker after he burst into the box. Dangerous moment that comes to nothing,

77′ Sanders cuts back for Sklenar who pokes over the bar.

76′ Cowen played in and bends one for the top corner that is collected.

74′ A series of shots get blocked before Zammit blazes over the top.

72′ Cowen smashes one over the crossbar with his shot from 20 yards out.

63′ A nice counter attack leads to a shot for Hey at the top of the box but he fires straight at the keeper.

57′ GOAL! 1-1! Walsh crosses, Sanders controls then fires home the leveller from the middle of the box.

53′ Blocked on the line by Cowen to deny Sanders, then Hey blazes over the top.

47′ Big chance goes begging! Walsh crosses for an unmarked Sklenar who heads over the bar from all of 8 yards out.

46′ Back underway at a freezing KGV.

Half Time: Hobart Zebras 0-1 Kingborough

A half of few clear cut chances, certainly late in the half the chances really dried up, all to play for in the second half.

38′ Van Doorne wins a header that loops up into the box and then into his own path. He gets a leg to it, but not enough to take it past O’Connell.

32′ WOODWORK! Cowen bends one from outside the box that chips the keeper but doesn’t quite dip enough and rattles into the crossbar! So very close to a wonderful goal.

27′ A pair of corners lead to a couple of half chances, the first a blocked Robinson shot that went miles into the air, the second well wide from Charuza.

23′ A well worked move sees Dillon combining with Sklenar then working it to Robinson, he cuts onto his left and blasts a shot that takes some saving, but O’Connell answers.

10′ A chip over the top from Sklenar sees O’Connell charging off his line and having a fresh air swing. Fortunately for him, Zammit spares his blushes by getting to it and clearing it.

6′ GOAL! 1-0! Kamara makes an awful mess of a back pass, fails to control it twice, presents the scoring chance to Cowen who deposits it!

4′ Another chace for Cowen who fires straight at Kamara who saves well.

3′ Cowen blasts one over the bar.

1′ Kick off, we are underway.

Teams:

Hobart Zebras are surely out of the title contention now but will have a point to prove against a Kingborough side that has proven somewhat of a bogey side for them in recent times, especially under Mark Broadbent. A stunning 5-0 win for the Lions back in Round 4 was followed by a narrow 4-3 Zebras win in Round 11, whilst the Lions claimed a 1-0 win and 1-1 draw from their last two clashes in 2017. Given their respective performances against other sides in the league, this is somewhat surprising, but the Lions simply match up well whenever the Safari Derby comes around. So Friday night could well be a lot closer than you’d imagine just by looking at the league standings.
