Full Time Kingborough 4-4 Launceston City

Full Time in one of the games of the season, that had it all!

90′ GOALLLL!!! 4-4! A free kick in an advanced area leads to a chance for Fagan who fires in the leveller.

88′ Davis flat out robbed by Dewsbury who makes her third outstanding kick save of the day to keep her side in it.

87′ CONTROVERSY!!!! City thought they had levelled it up, after Gardiner fumbled a cross from Steventon, right to the feet of Hernyk who chipped home. Referee has spotted a foul there. They are a protected species keepers, perhaps fortunate, though to be fair my angle is not perfect, City miffed though.

82′ GOAL! 3-4! Ohhhh pick that out!!!! Emily Hernyk, gives them life with a ferocious drive from the left hand corner of the box, absolute stunner that.

81′ Few tired bodies out there now, got to think the break neck pace this game was played at in the first half has contributed to this.

71′ Still 4-2 here, the chances drying up a bit, or at least the defenders are putting up some more resistance. The Lions still look the more threatening side.

65′ Phoebe Clifford does exceptionally well not to be outmuscled by Hernyk as she looked to force her way in behind, sticking with her, forcing her to turn back the other way and then blocking the shot.

63′ Tatton misses by a whisker! Beat Dewsbury to the ball and poked it past her, but it rolls agonisingly wide of the post.

58′ Huge penalty shouts from the Lions as Steventon brings down Davis in the box but the calls are waved away. Davis has stayed down and is going to need some treatment, eventually she gets up and is grabbing at her shoulder.

58′ Watkins tries to bend one to the far corner but it’s always rising.

54′ A free kick on the edge of the area is smashed over the top from the Lions.

52′ City have probably shaded the opening moments but no clear chances have fallen to either side as of yet.

46′ Back underway in the second half, lets hope for more of what we have had so far!

Half Time: Kingborough 4-2 Launceston City

An absolutely breathless half of football has the Lions roaring. It looked like they were going to leave some goals out there with their wastefulness but they now have the 2 goal buffer they so deserve. One of the games of the season this, completely free flowing and both teams looking to attack.

45+1′ GOAL!!!! 4-2!!!!! Leila Hickman has just bent a free kick from about 30 yards out that has picked out the far corner and lobbed the keeper, perfect placement!

45+1′ A slice of Cheese for a City player, perhaps Banner? A free kick to the Lions from a long way out the result.

45+1′ Forget your fluro goalkeeping kits! You want whatever Dewsbury is wearing, Tatton skips past Steventon and then she too fires it dead straight at the keeper with the entire goals open. They are playing so well the Lions, but they have missed some great chances.

44′ Watkins again in behind! She is absolutely torching them with her pace down the left, but she fires straight at the keeper in the 1 v 1 and Dewsbury gathers.

43′ Dewsbury catches a long range shot from Tatton, was probably sneaking wide.

41′ GOAL! 3-2! Lions! There is some salt in the wound! The two goal turn around as the Lions go up the other end on a searing counter, Davis crosses from the right and Watkins buries it.

40′ City so close! Steventon squanders a big chance as she underhits one from 7 yards out and it allows Gardiner to get across and make the save, she had already made on stop in a mad scramble in the box following a well hit Malkin free kick.

36′ What a save! Again Warkins tore in on the angle, but this time seemed to have picked out the far corner with her shot, only for Dewsbury to stick her left leg out at full extension and get a toe to it that pushed it past the post!

35′ Watkins is in behind for about the fifth time already in this game but her cross is sliced into the keepers hands.

33′ A stoppage here as Emily Hernyk gets some treatment after being clattered into by Gardiner in her efforts to stop the City attacker scoring.

28′ Hernyk rolls her defender in the box then blazes over the bar.

23′ Tatton’s looping header lands on the roof of the net from a Lions corner.

21′ Davis fires narrowly over the top from just outside the box.

19′ Save! Dewsbury does well to make a kick save, Watkins held off shooting as long as possible, as she carried it into the 6 yard box, then tried to knock it past the keeper from a metre away, but Dewsbury reacts well.

17′ GOAL! 2-2! It was pretty well instant at any rate, and it was Davis once again, getting in behind the defence and driving powerfully into the bottom corner, what an opening 20!

15′ City keeper Dewsbury launches a perfect sliding challenge to prevent what would have been another instant response with Davis in behind.

13′ GOAL! The goals keep flowing here early! City profit once again from a corner as Brooke Hernyk is afforded too much room and she meets the ball with a perfect volley.

7′ GOAL! 1-1! More than woken up, they’re back on terms! Lawson does well before the ball is worked to Davis in the box who doesn’t miss from close range!

6′ The goal seems to have woken the Lions up as Lawson fires over the bar.

5′ GOAL! 1–0 Launceston City! After monopolising the ball for the opening five minutes and probing the Lions area, the pressure finally tells. A corner leads to a chance for Shegog who strokes home!

1′ Kick off we are underway at the Den!
