Full Time: Kingborough 4-2 South Hobart

81’ GOAL 4-2! Watkins grabs her second as she storms into the box and fires home

76’ GOAL 3-2! Naomi Berrell the unlikely scorer, quality hit though from the top of the box and into the bottom corner.

69’ GOAL 3-1! Sam Watkins smashes one into the roof of the net! Emphatic hit!

65’ A top piece of keeping from Gardiner to slide out and deny Ferrier.

Unfortunately our Server keeps cutting out so apologies for the infrequent updates. The sad new is Davis has her knee iced and needed to be carried off.

45’ Half Time Kingborough 2-1 South Hobart

34′ A stoppage here whilst Laura Davis gets some treatment, went down clutching her knee after a challenge. This looks bad for the young star, her day is over, hopefully not her season.

29, GOAL 2-1! Davis again, and again it’s a clearance straight at her and it deflects in.

26′ Mckay fires one over the bar from the top of the box.

24′ No chances of note in the last 10 minutes, game flowing from end to end though

21, GOAL! 1-1 Djakic has pulled South back level.

14′ Davis at the centre of everything and she has a penalty shout turned away after a Carter challenge in the area.

10′ Johnson executes a good tackle to disposes Davis as she tried to go around her again. South need to find a way to put the clamps on her, because she is threatening to take this away from them.

7′ SAVE! Margot Johnson makes a good leg save to deny Davis a second in quick succession.

5′ GOAL! 1-0! Laura Davis! Colanzi’s clearance is straight into the midriff of Davis, who doesn’t flinch, takes it around the keeper and scores.

1′ Kick off, slightly delayed, getting underway at 2:07pm.

The Kingborough Lions will take on South Hobart in a game that has tremendous potential. Last week I walked away from the Launceston City v Kingborough game believing I had seen the game of the season in the WSL! Well, that assessment may not have lasted for even 24 hours, as South Hobart took it up to Hobart Zebras on the Sunday, falling 5-4 in a game just as, if not, more spectacular! With two of those sides now set to meet, we could get real fireworks here and if both sides take the attacking approach of last week, plenty more goals. The two youngest sides in the competition play the game in a manner conducive to good football, but unlike last week, neither will enter as underdogs, so will they be able to play with the same freedom? Here is hoping they do because I am itching for another game like we got served up last weekend.
