66′ Slice of cheese for Aitken.

65′ South take a quick free kick. Hall finds himself in the box but his shot is blocked out for a corner.

62′ Aitken cuts through South’s defence with a through ball to Mies. He butchers the chance and toe pokes it beyond the near post.

60′ Gorrie swings in a cross to the back post but Hall can’t get his head over it.

53′ Cartwright’s free kick goes beyond the back post where Linger smashes a cross in that hits the side netting.

52′ Slice of cheese for Jack Turner after arguing with the referee.

50′ Desouza is played through one-on-one after the two Turners tussle it out. Smith rushes out to make the save.

Second half is underway

That half went for well over 50 minutes. In 24 degree heat, the players are definitely feeling it heading into the sheds. South dominated most of the first half, with City struggling to keep hold of the ball long enough to cause damage.

Half time – Launceston City 0 – 3 South Hobart.

45’+4 Jack Turner is through on goal one-on-one but it’s called back for offside.

45′ +3 Morton gets the ball stuck at his feet in the middle of the park before spraying is wide to Gorrie. Gorrie’s cross is headed out for a corner.

36′ Morton gets in behind and sends a low, hard ball into the middle where Walter only just misses it.

35′ City caught napping as they let Gorrie in behind who get to the line and cuts back where Morton is waiting to smash it home. 3-0 to South.

32′ A close call from Millington after his volley chips the keeper and is just shy of the crossbar.

31′ Mies wins a corner after a brilliant run across the field from Dan Smith.

25′ After being sent from the field because of blood for the third time, Turner returns to the field and takes Sullivan’s place at the centre of defence while Aitken comes on in the centre of midfield.

City are now without both of their new import signings, after the injury of Sullivan and the sending off of Roller in Wednesday night’s game against Devonport.

Substitution for City. Sullivan OFF, Aitken ON.

23′ Play is stopped as Sullivan lays hurt on the ground. It requires attention from the City staff.

21′ Goal! A weird one for South Hobart. Smith collects a cross from Morton and when trying to send it up the field, kicks it into the back of Millington. The rebound loops the keeper and rolls over the line.

Darcy Hall making his return for South Hobart today.

18′ Linger links up well with Mies. The winger played it into Mies who held it up and played Linger through but he’s cut off by the South defence.

17′ Turner’s been bandaged up and returns to the field. But is sent back off for having blood on his shirt.

13′ A. Turner is sent from the field by the referee to tend to some blood coming from his face.

10′ Linger receives the ball on the right inside the 18-yard box. He lines up a shot under pressure from Bowman and hits the post.

City have really been struggling in the opening 10 minutes. South have been all over them.

2′ Walter turns inside of Goold and tries to curl one into the far corner but hits it high and wide.

1′ Goal! City turns the ball over early from kick off and Dorazio commits a foul in the panic. Morton scores off of the resulting free kick. 1-0
