Full time – Launceston City 1 – 1 University

85′ Substitution for University. ON Fraser. OFF Muir

82′ Savill hits a long-range shot at George who fumbles but recovers before anyone can capitalise.

71′ GOAL! University has drawn level! Muir gets the ball in behind the City defence and takes a touch past the oncoming Dewsbury to finish into an open net. A hint of offside but the linesman shakes his head and play continued. 1-1.

69′ Tantari plays a beautifully weighted ball to send Burley one-on-one with the keeper. She was unable to keep her composure and puts the shot wide.

66′ Savill lays it through to E. Hernyk who rushes her shot to try and catch the keeper off guard. George did slip over while making the save but there wasn’t enough pressure put on her for anyone to capitalise.

64′ Bygrave up to her usual tricks of hitting shots from long range. This one was a good effort but didn’t have the keeper too worried.

61′ Fagan manages to get a powerful shot on target that tests the keeper’s reactions.

56′ Dandolo makes a bursting run into City’s half but is cut out by B. Hernyk before she can make it dangerous.

47′ An obscure foul given against University for not taking the kick off correctly.

46′ GOAL! City goes 1-0 up after Bygrave shoots from just outside the area to beat the keeper to her right.

Second half is underway

It’s been a cold and dreary affair so far. City have been relatively in control, but University have had their moments. Hopefully, this second half will see some more action as the rain looms.

Halftime – Launceston City 0 – 0 University

45′ Fagan’s first real chance of the game. She hits a volley around her body and it just goes wide of the far post.

42′ Burley plays it out wide to Muir who gets a cross back into Burley. Burley hits it towards goal where Dewsbury makes a reaction save onto the post which is then cleared by Steventon.

38′ There’s a scramble in the box after a City corner which gets cleared by the University defence.

34′ George pulls off a brilliant save and pushes the ball away for a corner in her follow-up.

33′ A long kick from Geroge puts the City defence under pressure. Dewsbury comes out and collides with Burley and the ball is cleared.

32′ Fagan puts in a good ball along the ground to E. Hernyk but she can’t manage to get a good connection on it and sends it well high and wide.

30′ University have been looking to attack down the right through Muir quite a bit. Walsh has done well so far to break up the attack but this time Muir gets the better of her and gets a cross in which is collected well by Dewsbury.

19′ Slice of cheese! Walsh bumps over Muir in a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge. She’s seen a slice of cheese in the aftermath for what seemed like backchat.

Steventon seems to be playing in more of a midfield role for City with Zasadny dropping into the centre of defence. The City skipper’s defensive ability could prove useful, allowing Savill and Bygrave to play more offensively.

13′ University find themselves with a free kick on the right. Savill clears easily thwarting any danger that might have come.

11′ Savill plays in Walsh out wide whose cross was blocked by Lockley and put out for a corner.

8′ Walsh puts in a free kick on the left which falls to Bygrave. Bygrave manages to control it and send a tame shot to George who fumbles but manages to recover before there’s any danger.

2′ Dewsbury fluffs the kick straight to Dandolo who gets the first shot on target for the match.
