Having swept all before them, as was expected in the Veto Women’s Southern Championship, Olympia now face University in a bid to return to the Women’s Super League for 2019.

With University finishing in 8th place in the Super League, they must now face the relegation playoff game against the Warriors to determine who will take the final Super League spot for 2019.

The game, the first ever Super League promotion playoff game, will take place at KGV Football Park, on Sunday, September 9th. with a Kick off time of 2.00pm.

If the result is a draw after the 90 minutes then two periods of 15 minutes extra time will be played.  If the result is still a draw at the end of extra time, penalty kicks will be used to determine the winner.

The Warriors have unsurprisingly been dominant in the second tier this season, waltzing to the title and will enter the game as favourites despite being the nominally lower ranked side.

University’s form picked up late in the year in a brave bid to avoid the last place, and whilst their performances improved they were ultimately unable to claw their way from the foot of the table, forcing them into this game to avoid relegation.
